The pattern on the kimono is inspired by the legends and rock art of Indigenous Australians. They created images using colored dots that symbolized what they saw around them. A yellow dot represents the sun, a brown dot represents soil, a red dot represents desert sand, and a white dot represents clouds and sky. The pattern consists of images of people and Australian animals - crocodile, kangaroo, platypus, fish and jellyfish. You can also see the mythical Rainbow Serpent.
